A short story, published by Silent Spark Press in their Exemplary Short Stories collection.
"But after awhile we started thinking ahead. We wanted better. We wanted more. Marie has always wanted to try the stay-at-home thing, to focus on her poetry, and... well, I always wanted Marie to get what she wanted. I’d had my eye on the Editor in Chief position for about ten months before my old boss announced his retirement. I was excited about the opening, but I didn’t exactly like my chances. I have a lot of respect for everyone on our team, we had a lot of great reporters. And a good handful of us all wanted that job. I’m not proud of what I did to get the position, but I got what I was after in the end."
